COVID-19 in B.C. today: 1,776 new cases, 18 deaths

There were 1,776 new cases of COVID-19 today according to the B.C. Centre for Disease Control dashboard. Since the pandemic began, B.C. has recorded 327,625 cases.
Of the new cases, 248 are in the Vancouver Coastal Health region (including Richmond), 507 in the Fraser Health region, 222 in the Island Health region, 602 in the Interior Health region, 197 in the Northern Health region and no new cases of people who reside outside of Canada.
There are 25,959 active cases of COVID-19 in B.C. and 988 COVID-positive individuals are in hospital, 136 of whom are in intensive care.
To date, 10,811,962 doses of Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, AstraZeneca and Pfizer Pediatric COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in B.C.
Sadly, there were 18 new virus-related deaths reported today, bringing that total to 2,643. Of those who died, seven lived in the Vancouver Coastal Health region, four in the Fraser Health region, six in the Island Health region, and one in the Interior Health region.
